Akshay: Of course. I started at GSPL in 2011, focusing on operations and maintenance in the Rajkot region. As I gained experience, I saw the need for a more efficient, modern approach to managing GSPL’s extensive pipeline network. The system was paper-based, which made maintenance and record-keeping a cumbersome process. This inspired me to work towards a digital transformation.

Mentor_GoCrackIt: What steps did you take to bring this transformation to life?

Akshay: In 2017, I became part of a core team tasked with implementing SAP software for maintenance and operations. My main focus was the Plant Maintenance (PM) module, which helped us streamline maintenance processes, improve reporting, and optimize resource usage.

Akshay: The SAP system enabled us to track equipment history, work procedures, and spare parts consumption efficiently. It also helped us schedule preventive maintenance and respond quickly to breakdowns, minimizing disruptions in natural gas supply.
